Our preparatory education (ages 8-12) at Prins Dries primary school combines regular primary education with 5 to 10 hours of dance per week. You can only follow our dance programme after a successful audition. Since the dance programme at Prins Dries prepares you for an education at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, the dance lessons are also given by dance teachers from the Royal Ballet School Antwerp. In addition to dancing and regular primary education, Prince Dries also focuses on performing arts. The preparatory education at the Prins Dries primary school is the ideal springboard for children dreaming of a dance career. You are eligible to attend Prins Dries primary school to receive a professional preparatory ballet education from the third primary school year. The close collaboration between the Royal Ballet School Antwerp and Prince Dries ensures that students are able to develop their dance talent at an early age.

In combination with the primary school curriculum

Students in the preparatory programme receive 5 to 10 hours of dance lessons per week. These lessons are interwoven into the regular primary school curriculum. The final attainment levels for primary education are rigorously pursued. In other words, in addition to professional ballet training, you will also receive a full-fledged general primary education.

You can start the dance programme after a successful audition. Since the dance program at Prins Dries prepares you for training at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, the dance lessons are in cooperation with the teachers from the RBA. Besides dancing and the regular primary education, Prins Dries also focuses on performing arts. The preparatory education at Prins Dries is the ideal start for children who dream of a professional career in dance.
